Just Tom Has Just Broken Arm, Wrist, Hand. Lost For Year

At an area pickup basketball game earlier today, "Just Tom" Cadigan slipped on some loose sand on the court and fell awkwardly. He broke his left arm in three places, has a compound fracture of the clavicle, plus a hairline break in two wrist bones. He is expected to be out for 12-18 months with rehab to follow. It is very unlikely that even with rehab he will regain his pre-injury form. Although there are talks that a full recovery is possible through some sort of human-machine hybrid operation, a la Robocop. The Wiffleboard is expected to call for an emergency meeting to decide on when and where this "robot-tom" operation will occur.


UPDATE 9:32pm: After being examined by a real medical professional (the previous diagnosis was by yours truly who had a B+ in human bio in high school) along with the help of X-rays, it was determined that Just Tom had just a separated shoulder. When told that in order to pop the shoulder back the official MLWM shirt he was wearing would have to be cut off, he said "no, over my dead body". In order to maintain the integrity of the MLWM shirt, he endured pain and suffering we'll never know of. As of press time, he is day to day. Though it is not likely he'll be doing any strenuous activities within 10-14 days. Just to be on the safe side, the Wiffleboard will still convene in case plans for a "robot-tom" becomes necessary.

Press Release: Spring Training Debut Postponed

The MLWM Spring Training scheduled for April 23, 2006 at 2pm is canceled due to rain. Spring Training will begin next Sunday April 30 2pm at Meadowside. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The MLWM wiffleball spring training & regular season schedule have been made available on Google Calendar. Google Calendar is a web-based calendar application that makes things purty and neat. It's gots tons of functionality and uses the iCal standard. If all this make no sense to you, it's more or less a free computer version of a secretary that keeps all your appointments, birthdays, sports team schedules, due dates, and other dates and obligations.

To download the MLWM schedule, simply search for "Major League Wiffleball of Milford", of any combination of the above in your search for public calendars. The schedule will be updated throughout the year as new games and events become available.

Spring Training Begins This Sunday

Here we go guys. The Major League Wiffleball of Milford announces it's first Spring Training and Conditioning this Sunday April 23 at 2pm at Meadowside Field (weather permitting). Spring Training games will be held each Sunday at Meadowside at 2:00pm up till the start of the regular season.

The day will include, but not limited to Full Squad Workout, batting practice, bullpen sessions, and constant banter.

Opening Day is set for May 21, 2006 at 4pm (Meadowside Field). The day will include the National Anthem, Ring Ceremony, and introduction of players.
